Bio

Joe Perez is an author and ordained Integral Minister whose work explores spirituality, philosophy, symbolism, and contemplative practice. As an undergraduate at Harvard, where he graduated with honors, he studied Chinese art and religion. He later earned an M.Div. from an interfaith seminary.

For more than a decade, Joe has kept Yang Xiong’s T’ai Hsüan Ching as a personal practice, working with its ternary system through contemplation, poetry, and divination. Taixuanjing for Today grew out of that practice.

His earlier books include Soulfully Gay (Integral Books/Shambhala, 2007) and The Kalendar: The Black Stone (Integral Publishers, 2016). He lives in Seattle.
